Why Pilates?

Pilates is a physical fitness program that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the whole body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improves coordination and balance, while developing long, lean muscles. Pilates allows for different exercises to be modified in a range of difficulty from beginner to advanced, including modifications for injuries. Intensity is increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises. It is extremely beneficial in rehabilitating after an injury or ailment.

Pilates is appropriate for ALL fitness levels. From teens to seniors, the level of intensity is tailored to the individual client. Pilates emphasizes core strength and correct form through breathing and mind/body connection.
